VCA824: Where is PSpice model for VCA824?

Part Number: VCA824
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: VCA820

Tool/software:

I can't find PSpice models for VCA824 or VCA820. What's really strange is that I downloaded the model for VCA820 2 weeks ago - it was linked on the product page, but now it's gone.

I want PSpice models because I'm using LTSpice ATM, and might migrate to using our Mentor-based PSpice tool in the future.

Equally weird: When I go to the VGA/PGA product page and have it list all devices (no filters), VCA820 and VCA824 do not appear. Their product pages are only findable by searching for them by MPN. I'm going to bring that up as a separate topic.

  • Hello Michael,

I am looking into this for you, I already have reached out to the appropriate folks on my side of things.

In the interim, I did confirm that PSPICE for TI has the models accessible within its own installation, as TI has partnered to have up-to-date models in the PSPICE for TI install.

You may either request and download PSPICE for TI to access the models, or I can try and supply both models to you (VCA820 & VCA824) to use while we address the website behavior.

I aim to provide an update tomorrow.

    Thank you Michael.

    Best,

    Alec

  • Thanks, Alec! I'll try the download (may already have it!)

  • Hello Michael,

TI is de-emphasizing the  VCA820/3/4 to promote consideration of newer and alternative products for new & refresh customer designs.  TI’s Product Life Cycle commitments still remains valid. The VCA820 and VCA824 are orderable on TI.com and TI does not EOL (end-of-life) parts, per the above product life cycle description.

You are able to use either part for your design.  If you still need SPICE or EVM files I can work on providing these for you.  The changes to EVM & SPICE model web access are made to drive customers to use other portfolio devices.  The purpose is to promote improved devices and new part families.

If you would prefer to design-in another device, I can assist with recommending an amplifier for your application.

    Best,

    Alec

  • Hi Alec

I downloaded TI-PSPICE and see the models for the VCA82x family - thanks! I'm going to close this issue, but ask more questions on the related one.
