TL391LV: Output logic clarification

Hi team,

Could you help to clarify the logic for TL391LVDBVR?

As it is having open-drained output, using it as a comparator, does it mean that when IN+>IN-, output is pulled to ground or is it the other way round?

It is assumed that you have a pull-up resistor at the output. So high means that the output is inactive, low means that the output pulls low.

Hi Hung,

The output MOSFET is either on or off - like a relay contact.

As Clemens said, when the negative input is greater than the positive input, the MOSFET conducts and pulls the output to ground.

If the Positive input is greater than the negative input, the output MOSFET is OFF (open/non-conducting) and the output resistor pulls the output up to the pull-up voltage.
