INA233: INA233 ALERT ouput latching

Hello team,

I use INA233 to detect overcurrent and to physically interrupt the current flow (using the INA233, ALERT pin3 output).

However this removes the overcurrent condition so that the alert pin in not asserted and the high current flows again.

Is it possible to latch the ALERT pin for instance until it is OC condition in read?

The alert behavious latch in MFR_DEVICE_CONFIG seems to latch the register value but not the pin putput level.

Hello Mario,

Thank you for using the TI forum. Having the latch setting enabled will keep the ALERT pin latched also for the OC condition until the ALERT is cleared. After testing this, it does seem that the MFR_CALIBRATION setting needs to be set in order for the ALERT to trigger. Also, you will need to set the OC to alert on the pin from the MFR_ALERT_MASK register.

you are right with your settings the ALERT is latched until the FAULT is cleared with reg 0x03.
