Hi team,

Could you tell me what is the minimum output pulse width of TLV3202-Q1? Is it the same of propagation delay time(around 40ns)?

    Hi Muwei,

    The minimum output pulse can be lower than the propagation delay of the comparator.

    For our faster devices like the TLV3601, we spec the minimum allowable input pulse width:

    The minimum input pulse width is the pulse width at which the output pulse width becomes be 90% of the input pulse width. Going smaller and smaller in the input pulse would just cause the output pulse to get smaller and smaller until the comparator no longer switches.

    What significance is the minimum output pulse width to your application?

    Hi Ho, 

    Can you help provide a approximate minimum input or output pulse width of TLV3202? I understand it is not specified in datasheet, but customer want the data to investigate the influence of output pulse width to MOSFET gate turn on time as this comparator will used to turn on/off the MOSFET.

    Hi Muwei,

    I checked internally and couldn't find data on this. I went ahead and tested the TLV3201-Q1. This should have similar performance as the TLV3202-Q1.

    I want to preface this by saying that TI does not warranty minimum input pulse width on the TLV3202-Q1 since it's not on the datasheet. The results I provide here are for engineering guidance only. 

    I used the TLV3201-Q1 DCK package on the TLV3601EVM.

    VCC: 2.5V

    VEE: -2.5V

    GND: 0V

    IN-: 0V

    IN+: -100mV to 100mV square wave

    I went ahead and swept the frequency to change the pulse width:

    Channel 1 is input pulse and Channel 2 is output pulse. The output pulse width seems to dip below 90% of the input pulse width at ~38.61ns input pulse. Square wave frequency at this point is 13MHz.
