TLV9062: How to calculate the RC for current source application

Part Number: TLV9062

Tool/software:

Hi TI experts,

I'm using the TLV9062 to drive a MOSFET as the current source application as below TI's reference circuit.

But I don't know how to calculat the external component R1, R2 and C1 for the stability isssue, could you provide me how to calculate those components? Or is there any document about this topic? Thanks.

BR

Sean

  • Hello Sean,

R1 isolates output from capacitance of T1. It should be larger than Zo (100 ohms) so that C1 can pass low phase lag feedback. The Fc of R1 and T1 capacitance should be less than frequency where open loop phase starts falling faster (about BW/3) 3.3MHz. Excessive R1 slows response time and creates more phase lag on R3 voltage.

Fc of C1 and R2 should be less than frequency where TLV9062 output to R3 lags by 45 degrees. This frequency depends on the load and T1 characteristics. Excessively low C1&R2 Fc will slow response time.
