LMP7711: Marking code of LMP7711

Part Number: LMP7711

Tool/software:

Good morning.

I use LMP7711 and on the data sheet resultt the correct marking code "AC3A".

Objects that have no marking code have been mounted on my electronic board.
Is it possible that TI sells components without marking code?

In my opinion it is impossible but I wanted to ask for confirmation.

  • Stefano,

No, the marking is required to validate the device.  If the device does not have a marking code than it may be a counterfeit.  Here is the Anti-counterfeit policy  The key point of the policy is to make sure that devices are purchased through authorized distributors.  You should confirm the source of the devices.

    Best regards, Art

  • Thanks I imagined it but I wanted to be sure.
I did NOT see any making code with the microscope. The manufacturer who builds the electronic boards showed me that with a drop of alcohol on it and the microscope the marking can be read. Usually I have always found the marking code clear and visible. This is the first time I have problems reading it.

  • Stefano,

The marking is correct.  However, the fact that it is difficult to read may still indicate that the device is counterfeit.  The same comment applies here as before:  if the device was not purchased through authorized distributors it may be counterfeit; however, it is not necessary a counterfeit. If the device meets performance expectations it is probably ok.

FYI.  I will be out for the next week so if you have follow up questions please start a new post.
