LM239: Layout 'marking' for LM239ADR

Hi Texas Intruments and everyone,

I have a question about PN: LM239ADR.

During the purchase and use process, we found that this PN has many different layout markings (3 attached images) although their characters are correct.

Please explain to me why there are 3 different types and does it affect the quality of this product line?

These are indeed changes to the marking style that TI has been doing recently, and is still doing.

The LM239ADR has five assembly sites, so it is possible to get different marking styles at the same time.

Sorry, but could you tell me if you are an engineer from TI?
We need confirmation about LM239ADR quality, as there are too many different 'layout markings' that are not mentioned in the publicly available datasheets, which makes it difficult for us to determine whether they are genuine. Thanks!

I am not a TI employee.

The marking style is not part of the datasheet specifications.

Clemens is correct. These high volume devices are assembled at 3 assembly sites. Each site has slightly different equipment and capabilities.

There is a recent company-wide change to the top markings.

This is mentioned in the LM339 family appnote, section 4:

Application Design Guidelines for LM339, LM393, TL331 Family Comparators

In summary:

The package marking changes are:

The pin 1 bar marking was changed to a single dot.
The TI logo graphic was replaced with the letters TI.
The underscored E Category marking (commonly G4 or E4) was eliminated.
The font was changed to a more Optical Character Recognition (OCRA) friendly font.

The date codes and top markings are consistent with TI devices.

We do not mention the details of markings due to counterfeiting.
