LMP7704: AC Analysis of Buffer

Part Number: LMP7704

Tool/software:

I am using the LMP7704 as a buffer. When I perform an AC Analysis with the op amp supplied with +5V and -5V, the analysis shows a magnitude of 0dB at low frequency, which is what I would expect for a buffer with a gain of 1. If I supply the op amp with a single supply of +5V, the AC analysis shows a magnitude of -44.19dB at low frequency. What would cause the simulation using a single supply to give different results?

  • Hi Shad,

What would cause the simulation using a single supply to give different results?

With dual ±5Vdc supply rail, your input common mode voltage is near the GND and you are operating in the op amp's linear region at the input.

With +5V single supply rail, you input commode mode voltage range has to be 100mV to 200mV above the minimum Vcm figure specified from the datasheet, see the attached simulation.
