LF156: AD741SH replacement

Part Number: LF156
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM741

Tool/software:

we would like to use the LF156 as a replacement for the AD741. The LF156H shares the same pin out as the AD741SH the only issue is the AD741SH voltage offset null circuit (Pins 1 and 5) operates off -V (datasheet Pg 1 ) and the balance circuit on the LF156H (Pins 1 and 5) operates off +V (Datasheet Pg 21 Fig 40). What I need to find out is this, is their a pin to pin replacement for the LF156H whose Balance circuit (Pins 1 to 5) operates on -V?

  • Hey Mike,

We do not have many devices in a can style package, or many devices with balance pins.

Fortunately, we do have a solid cross being the LM741:

If you need the wider temp range, you will need to go with the QML device.

This device uses balance circuitry going to V-:

Do you use the balance pins to improve offset, or are you using this feature for a special function in your circuit?

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Best,

    Jacob
