INA237: Current sensor calibration

Part Number: INA237

Tool/software:

Hi TI team,

We are using the INA237AIDGSR Current/voltage sensor in our project.

We are doing current sensor calibration. We could see different current readings in SW as temperature varies.

I am attaching the sheet for your reference.

Kindly help to find the cause and improve measures for this issue in SW readings

  • Hi Akshata,

It is normal to see variations in readings as temperature changes. Section 6.8 of the datasheet has various plots that shows how device characteristics such as bias current, gain error, and offset voltage vary with respect to temperature.

Note that the offset drift is ±0.02 uV/°C and the gain error drift is ±50 ppm/°C

We have the following calculator tool that you can use to see how system parameters will vary with temperature. You can calibrate the device over temperature if you need more accurate results. Also keep in mind that the shunt resistor can be a source of error as it can vary with temperature.

    Best,

    Holly
