TLV7011: Circuit problem

Part Number: TLV7011

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have the circuit in the picture

The output of the comparator is connected to series resistor of 100kOhm and then to OR gate.

I need to make PWM with time period of 10 seconds and ON time of 0.5 second.

I have a problem that when the output is high (3.3V), and the non inverting input pin is 2.2V, the inverting input pin charges and the output toggles to low before the inverting pin reaches 2.2V:

Blue - inverting input pin

Yellow - non inverting input pin

As you can see, sometimes it reaches to 2.2V and sometimes not.

The problem above is happening only if i connect the output of the comparator to OR gate via 100k ohm series resistor. If the output of the comparator isn't connected to anything the problem disappear

What is wrong?

Thank you

Maor M.

  • Hello Maor,

The 100k load to the OR gate is not a direct problem. Perhaps something past the OR gate induces a large noise glitch at the inputs or the supply pins of the comparator. Your waveforms look clean, too clean. Can you retake them with peak detect turned on? Check supply voltage at the device pins too.
