TLV342 Spice Model

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV342, TINA-TI, TLV341

I'm getting unusual results when trying to use the TLV342 Spice model in TINA-TI V9.  Can someone at TI confirm whether or not there is a problem with this model?

Thanks.

  • Hello John,

    I have not seen any (other) complaints about the model.
    What is the issue and which model did you use Pspice or Tina-TI spice?

  • Hi Ron,

    Thanks for getting back to me on this.

    It's from the "Spice Macros" menu of Tina-TI.

    I would rather have access to the TLV341, but the dual TLV342 was the only part available.

  • John;

    Whoever was responsible for creating the TLV342 TINA macro certainly did not put any effort into drawing a proper symbol for it! There is no excuse for providing a rectangle for an op amp symbol. This is just shoddy work, TI.

  • Neil,

    The model is for a dual op amp, so the standard op amp triangle symbol can not be used.
    Do you have a suggestion for an alternate symbol?

  • Ron;

    You must not be very familiar with TINA-TI. The TINA op amp macromodels are written for single devices and the user places two standard triangle symbols on his schematic to represent a dual op amp (changing the designation from an OPAxxx to an OPA2xxxA and OPA2xxxB). A quad op amp is treated similarly.

    If you have used TINA much, you will have noticed that the single, dual, and quad op amps all have a standard triangle symbol-- except for the ones that TI produced with the supply pins in the wrong positions or the ones drawn upside down.....more shoddy work.  Is nobody managing and coordinating this effort?
