AMC23C10: Isolated Zero-Cross Detection Circuit

Part Number: AMC23C10

Tool/software:

Hi

The circuit is composed of  sbaa542 document references.
Among them, I would like to inquire about the diode.
I used GS1000FL-AU because they told me to use a product with a Vf near to 0v.
Is it okay? Is there a recommended Vf value?
And what is the purpose of the diode?

And is there anything wrong in the following circuit? (No R-C filter is used)

Thanks

  • Hi David,

The purpose of the diode is to limit the input voltage into the device.  The low Vf is to make the switching period shorter/faster and will help reduce output latency.

In your schematic, why are the 2 outputs shorted together?

    Thanks
