INA230: SCL Absolute Maximum Rating?

Part Number: INA230
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA226, INA231,

Tool/software:

On the datasheet, there are descriptions of absolute maximum ratings;
SDA : GND – 0.3 to +6
SCL : GND – 0.3 to VS + 0.3

There was a forum post 6 years ago that said the SCL rating is probably a typo and should be same as SDA: GND – 0.3 to +6 (and there is no clamp diode from SCL to VS).
Can TI confirm or deny?

  • Hello,

    Yes, you are correct. It looks like this was fixed on the INA231 datasheet, but not the INA230 or INA226 datasheets. I will put in a request to have this corrected on the INA230 and INA226 datasheets. The SCL can be powered up without power on the device, similar to the SDA pin.

    Regards,

    Mitch
