LMV331: power up behavior

Part Number: LMV331

Tool/software:

Hi team,

please help me take a look at this schematic from customer,

since LMV331 doesn't have POR,

As you can see both the IN+ and IN- are divider of same 5V from VCC, does this VCC power up situation match exactly the 1-b condition of our datasheet 8.2.2.1     (i.e output high-Z) ?

  • Hi Fred,

Section 8.2.2.1 describes the output behavior based on different input conditions. 1b. that is underlined in the image is the normal output behavior of a comparator operating within the recommended operating conditions.

The list of outputs with input voltage situations in section 8.2.2.1 is under the assumption that the supply voltage is at least the minimum supply (VCC > 2.7V).

The list does not describe any output condition when the comparator is powering on (VCC < 2.7V), so you cannot use this list to predict output behavior during power-on.

  • HI HO,

understood, but do we have the power up behavior under VCC in any application note?

  • Hi Fred,

I'm not aware of any applications note or collateral that details the behavior of the LMV331 power on behavior.
