OPA2673: absolute maximum is same as recommended operation value

Part Number: OPA2673

Tool/software:

the absolute maximum rating for supply voltage Vs is 13V MAX, where the Recommended operation condition is also the same. i believe the absolute value usually is larger as to protect the device. is this common to be the same and it would be helpful to know why.

regards,

  • Hi Sho,

That is usually the case with our devices but there have been some exceptions to this. I can try looking into this for you and see if I can get more information but for now, we can assume the datasheet is correct and the device's max voltage rating is in fact 13V to be on the safe side.

  • thank you for your reply, noted that max voltage is the same as the recommended value. please let me know if it is safe to used the device at 13V having this kind of setting.

  • Hi Sho,

Because the device is on the older side there is not a lot of information regarding the max and recommended being the same so I cannot confirm it is a typo or if it is actually the same for both. However, I spoke with the team and was told 13V should not be a concern for the device.

    Best Regards,

    Ignacio

  • Hello I spoke with the designer and the abx max of latest silicon is 14V and recommended max is 13V.
Since the earlier die had abs max as 13V , we were waiting for a few years since lot of customers might have the old die.
