TL082-Q1: Next-generation solution recommendation.

Part Number: TL082-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi expert

Desay SV is the world's largest customer of TL082-Q1. Customers want to introduce the next generation of the TL082-Q1, and their common circuit is a reverse amplifier. They want products that are low in price and have good performance.

Please treat this device recommendation with high priority, because Desay SV has a large business using operational amplifiers, and we need to recommend an optimal solution.

They were asking for a new product that would avoid the following problems.

(+) TL082-Q1: VCC(pin8) and 2OUT(pin7) are short-circuited - Amplifiers-INTERNAL Forum - Amplifiers-INTERNAL - TI E2E support forums

The typical use case is that VCC always comes earlier than VCC- which will cause voltage spike during start-up.

Best Regards!

  • Hi Mason,

The TLC9352-Q1 is listed as the new replacement.

    TLC9352-Q1

The main issue to be aware of is that if there is no power on reset circuit designed into the amplifiers then the output will be undefined during power up until the amplifier sees valid minimum supply voltages.

Please reference this post as well:

TL082-Q1: Abnormal voltage drops during the operation amplifier power-on

Additionally the input DC voltages should not exceed the power supply power rails in any situation. If the input voltage is greater than VCC or less than VEE device damage can occur. In order to protect against device damage we offer a free training course under our Texas Instruments Precision Labs for the topic of electrical overstress or EOS. We provide guidance on how to select components to protect the amplifier. Please find the EOS section in the link below.

I hope this information is useful to start the conversation. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
