AMC0311D: Accuracy

Part Number: AMC0311D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS127L18

Tool/software:

Hi TI Team

I have tested the AMC0311D vs the AMC1311B with the help of the ADS127L18 EVAL Board. And I get better results from the AMC0311D like lower noise, offset and linearity. I tested 5 AMC1311B and 5 AMC0311D and I use the sinc3 50Hz filter in my ADS127L18. Is the data sheet of the AMC0311D still preliminary and electrical characteristics are not final or is it because I have the PAMC0311D version which is slightly better than the final product?

Thank you in advance.

Regards Theo

  • Hi Theo,

This is great to hear. Thank you for the feedback!

AMC0311D is now active and DS values can be seen on the product page, also linked below. I would not expect better performance from a "P" marked product compared to what was released.

There may be more variation in analog performance lot to lot compared to device to device. Likely all 5 devices in your test are from the same lot and I would expect them to behave similarly. But please confirm if this is not an accurate assumption.

  • Hi Alexander

I assume that both the 5 AMC1311B and the 5 PAMC0311D are each from the same lot because i took them from the same reel. So for maximum accuracy the AMC1311B should be better overall and the PAMC0311D i have are just a lucky lot?

    Regards Theo

  • Hi Theo,

You can confirm they are the same lot by the top side marking being the same, but yes that is correct, although the difference in accuracy is quite minimal.

    From the AMC0311D DS below:

    AMC1311B DS:

The only difference in terms of maximum accuracy parameters is Gain error, 0.2% vs 0.25% and nonlinearity 0.04% vs 0.05%.

The main new development of the AMC0311x devices is that we also have the ratiometric (SE output scales to ADC Vref) and fixed gain single-ended output options. There are differences in the isolation performance between the devices as well.
