OPA593: Schematic review

Part Number: OPA593

Tool/software:

Hi,

Could you review the schematic?

Thanks.

  • Hi David,

+-50mA at 2V from the rail is fine for this device even across temperature:

500pF of cap load will be plenty stable for the OPA593 to drive:

I might suggest decreasing/testing with R504 to ensure this is sized properly.

Ideally, we do not want to run into the set current limit as the device will operate in a very non-linear manner. It looks like 316kohm is on the edge/even a bit low for where we need to be to output 50mA:

I may suggest using something like 150kohm - 100kohm (~70mA - ~90mA) to allow for tolerance and extra headroom in this current limit accuracy.

Extra current limit is only bad if you have sustained conditions where the max current would activate (short condition). If this happens, we would see pin 7 assert low.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Best,

    Jacob
