Tool/software:
Dear Sir
I would like to inquire about the MSL for OPA2277U/2K5. The datasheet indicates it is MSL 3, but the parts we received are labeled as MSL 2 with a date code of 2430. Is this normal?
Thanks!
Best Regards
Ken

As shown on ti.com/quality-reliability-packaging-download/report?opn=OPA2277U/2K5, the only current assembly site is in Malaysia, and it produces MSL 2 parts.
I'd guess that there was another assembly site producing MSL 3 parts previously, and that the datasheet was not updated after that change.
Hi Ken,
Agreed with Clemens. We have devices that can ship out of different assembly sites that have different MSL ratings. Since MSL level 3 is the lowest rating, we have to use this in the data sheet, however if you receive devices that have MSL level 2 marked on the package, then they are indeed MSL level 2.
Hope this answers your question.
Regards,
Mike
