In general, you would add a separate latch (SN74LVC1G373, or an R/S-latch built from a SN74LVC2G00) to a plain comparator.

Do you mean that output going to a certain state (VOL or VOH) stays that way (until latch is released)?

Ron was describing two different types of latches. SN74LVC1G373 is the first, R/S-latch is the second.

If both of my questions are true then, the D-Type Latch, SN74LVC1G373, is good.
