LMC6462: X Suffix meaning

Part Number: LMC6462

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I have a customer with the below question. Let me know what you think and thanks in advance!

"I got a notification that the TI part LMC6462BIM/NOPB-ND are obsolete and am looking for an alternative. The recommended alternative seems to be LMC6462BIMX/NOPB but I couldn’t find any documentation describing exactly what this “x” suffix means.

Could you please clarify? What I assume is that the only difference between the blank and “x” suffix is the package qty and they are in fact the same part but I wanted to make sure before adding in the alternative."

  • Hi Marco,

It is the same part. The differences are the package quality. LMC6462BIM comes in Tube package, which is discontinued. LMC6462BIMX comes with 2500units/Reel which is sold in large size now.

If you have other questions, please let us know.

    Best,
