TLV9361-Q1: Question about Output short-circuit.

In DS, the TLV9361-Q1’s Output short-circuit is “Continues”. Does this mean the Output Pin can be connect to Ground for long time without risk?

But in the note (2) says “Extended short-circuit current, especially with higher supply voltage, can cause excessive heating and eventual destruction.” How to understand this?

A short circuit will not immediately damage the device. But you still have to ensure that the power dissipation will not fry the device (T_A + R_θJA× P_d < T_J).

Does this mean output can continues short to GND, when I ensure that the power dissipation will not fry the device?

Yes. (The power dissipation depends on the voltage between the shorted voltage and the other supply.)
