TLV9062: op-amp solution request

Part Number: TLV9062
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA381

Tool/software:

Hi team,

The customer has such a requirement: the input current is 1.5uA~400uA, need to transfer current signal to voltage signal, then noninverting amplifier the signal, finally compare the signal with 0.3V to get a high level signal. When the input current is 1.5uA, need to get a high level output, The total response time need to limited in 50us. Could you help use op-amp to realize the above requirement, including signal transformation, signal amplifier and compare. By the way, the system input voltage is 3.3V. So if have any recommendation, please help provide the PN and if possible, please also share the system design with us.

  • This is typically done by measuring the voltage drop over a shunt resistor with a difference amplifiert, and adding a comparator. There are integrated current-sense amplifiers with a comparator, e.g., INA381.

What is the maximum voltage drop over the resistor that your circuit can tolerate?
At which currents should the output be low?

  • Hi Hale,

Clemens offered a good suggestion. I'd also suggest using a shunt resistor and a fixed-gain current sense amplifier to detect the voltage across the resistor. As Clemens said, you could use a current sense amplifier with an integrated comparator or a current sense amplifier and a discrete comparator.
