TL061: TL061CDR Offset null function missing

Part Number: TL061
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL071H

Tool/software:

Looking at the Data sheet for the TL061CDR which we have been buying for years, we have noticed that on page 4 of the August 2023 revision on figure 5-1 the TL061x diagram shows pins 1 and 5 are not connected but on page 5 table 5-1  Pin Functions and page 14 figure 7-3 shows that there is a N1 and N2 offset voltage null circuit function.

We have bee using is function and op-amp to control and battery reading buffer for a micro, but now this has stopped working.

I was just wondering if this function has been removed?

  • Since PCN 20230713001.1, the new dies (CMOS, similar to the TL071H) use an entirely different architecture, so this offset adjustment is no longer possible. The N1/N2 pins indeed are NC.

If you want help with adjusting your circuit, please show the schematic.

  • Hi Steve,

Pin Functions and page 14 figure 7-3 shows that there is a N1 and N2 offset voltage null circuit function.

TL061CDR has issued PCN dated on 7/14/2023, where FAB and number of changes have been made.

You are correct. These offset adjustment feature at Pin1 and Pin8 has been removed after post PCN TL061CDR op amp. The datasheet did not exactly reflect the change (typo), and I will make a note of it.

Please let me know if I am able to help. The post_PCN's Vos should be improved and better than ±3mV (typ.) up to ±15mV (±20mV over temperature). Perhaps we can find alternative p2p to replace the op amp, if the post-PCN does not meet the application's need.

    Best,

    Raymond
