TPA3255EVM: Amplifier board orientation

Hi,

Would it be a cooling or performance issue to mount the TPA3255EVM board on edge (on a well supported bracket)? The board would be sitting sideways (like a slotted module in a desktop PC), oriented with the heat sink fins running vertically.

    Hi Jack,

    This would be fine, but keep in mind that if you put the EVM in an enclosed space, there can be some thermal impact if there is no air flow. After long time of playing, the heatsink could heat up the air around it without any airflow in an enclosed system, effectively raising the ambient temperature. This would only be an issue in particularly small enclosures with minimal venting but is worth considering.
