AMC1200-Q1: Gain Issue

Part Number: AMC1200-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

Customer found the 1pcs device failure return as the differential output voltage is abnormal in production line. and the unit had been analysis with FA( QEM-CCR-2503-00012) before. however the FA result didn't show any damage observed as attached file. And we found the VOUTP is 3.26V, and VOUTN is 1.8V. GAIN Value is 3.26-1.8V/100mV = 14.6V that is already out of SPEC.

There're few questions here.

1. How to do the correct failure analysis to indicate the gain failure?

If input a +/-324mV,peak triangle waveform to the INPUTs to check Gain, is that a good way? How about the slop of triangle setting? is there any best suggestion?

2. How come Gain value would be failure and out of SPEC?

============================================================================

Test Conditions in product line:

PIN2-3, with 100mV Input

PIN 7, V+ is 3.26V

PIN 6, V- is 1.8V

Vout_diff = 3.26V - 1.8V = 1.4V, Gain is about 14 (NG unit)

[Good Unit]

Vout_diff = 0.9V

Measurement with NG unit (Vout_diff is 1.553V)

Measurement with NG Unit (Vout_diff is 0.944V)

  • Hi Brian,

    This may not be related to GAIN specifically, but a different device behavior - such as a latch caused by damage or manufacturing issue.

    I don't have the specific background on QEM-CCR-2503-00012, I recommend contacting the FQE for additional details.
