INA232: how to detect data transmission error?

Our customer wants to know how to detect data transmission error on I2C.

Are there any way to do that?

I found the register Mask/Enable[MemError].

Can be it used for data transmission error detection?

The I²C protocol does not have any error detection or correction mechanism. (MemError indicates an error in the internal memory.)

To reduce the risk of transmission errors, read multiple times, and re-read register values after writes.

Clemens is correct – the Mask/Enable register is used only by the device itself, not an indicator of transmission error.
