INA740B: Robust Design Guidance

Part Number: INA740B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00302, INA210

Tool/software:

While researching current sensors, I ran across the Transient Robustness for Current Shunt Monitor TIDA-00302 ap note.  Does this ap note apply to the INA740B?  Are there any other design recommendations outside of the datasheet?

  • Hello Wayne,

Yes, you can use the concepts of that design with the INA740B by adding the circuitry in between the SH± and IN±. Due to a different architecture in the INA740B and the INA210, you will also want to add a capacitor (~10nF) across the IN+ and IN- pins of the device (on the IN± pin side of the rest of the circuitry).

    Regards,
