Tool/software:
This is for an industrial application.
We need to convert a current (similar to photodiode, it's negative current) with possible full scale range of 100pA or 1uA. Output of transconductance amplifier will drive a SD ADC.
Bandwidth is within few hundred KHz. Possibly less.
The biggest concern is negative transient currents are possible which can go upto few mA. We can ignore them, but with the feedback resistor of the TIA being so large due to small input dynamic range will that damage OPA320? We are concerned about using protection diodes since that may introduce leakage currents during normal operation. Max temperature is expected to be ~60C
One idea is to calibrate for the leakage current, but then we need to lower the usable dynamic range of the signal significantly to cover low to high temperature leakage.
Any suggestions? Also is OPA320 the best option for this application?
