TLV1805: Tolerance for IN+ and IN- when Vcc = 24V

Hi Team,

As per the datasheet, IN+ and IN- are tolerant upto Vcc + 0.3V with Vcc (abs max) = 40V.

Now, I would like to understand the following, if Vcc=24V; can IN+ and IN- inputs be at 26V and 0V respectively? Would this cause any damage to the IC?

26 V is larger than 24.3 V. This would be allowed only if your circuit were to limit the clamping current to less than 10 mA.

The TLV1851 would have overvoltage-tolerant inputs,

So a current limit resistor of 5k should be sufficient for IN+ and IN- inputs?

Since there is no back-to-back input protection diodes between TLV1805 input terminals (see below), exceeding the supply voltage by 2V will only forward-bias ESD diode between IN+ and Vcc. Thus, with Vcc of 24V and input at 26V, all you need is 200ohm resistor to limit the current to 10mA or less (2V/10mA = 200 ohm).
