ALM2402F-Q1: Saturation in simulation

Part Number: ALM2402F-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALM2403-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi, I'm using ALM2402F-Q1 for automotive application and Vs set to 12V. During simulation op-amp is saturating at 11V although ALM2402F-Q1 is rail-to-rail op-amp. However, it does not saturate during hardware verification test. Could you please help me to understand motivation behind saturating during simulation but not during hardware verification test?

  • Hi Jayal,

    Sorry for this complication.

We have recently discovered a slight abnormality in the swing to rail performance for the ALM2402F-Q1 and ALM2403-Q1 SPICE macro models. This error is predominately on the V+ output side, but both sides of the claw curve are overly cautious regarding swing to rail performance.

We are currently working to revise the models to improve accuracy. I am happy to review your simulation files to verify that this disparity is from an inaccurate claw curve in model.

The EC table is the best resource to verify performance:

    Thanks,

    Jacob

  • Hi Jacob,

    Thanks for prompt response,

We have same thoughts as hardware looks fine!

    Kind Regards,

    Jayal
