Hi all,

I would like to know how protect the output XTR300 in current and voltage mode. The power V+ should be 24 V DC and V- should be -5 V DC. So, I've read that the two TVS3300 connects in back to back could be a good choose to protect the device. So, i need if is correct and if was necessary to insert a resettable fuse in series output connection user.

Hi Pierpaolo,

Usually, the TVS diode would be able to properly clamp and protect the system. Fuses can also add some resistance to the load which could interfere with the voltage mode operation.

Did you look at How to select a Surge Diode for some of this information? It specifically goes into 4-20mA current loop applications.
