LM393A: Different part marking

Tool/software:

We have 2 part markings of the PN: LM393A, one is failing in our ICT, once we change for the component with the other marking the test pass, I would like to request your support to share comments on what is the difference between these two components.

Hi Ramon,

Please see the following Appnote, sections 3.6 and 6.3:

Application Design Guidelines for LM339, LM393, TL331 Family Comparators

The C51E is the new TiB design.

The AHPS is the "classic" Ji1 design.

Is the ICT powered, or a resistance check?

If just a resistance check, then there will be differences between the two die.

Is the application failing?

Hi Paul.

Thank you for your prompt response, my concern here is why the items will be different if they are selling as the same component?, we do no have any communication that the change will impact the functionality

Hi Ramon,

If they are operating within the datasheet conditions, they should not see any difference - or even possibly an improvement.
