LM2904: Top marking confirmation

Hi Carrie,

I checked the PCN and it only indicated the change of TI logo/pin 1 designator, but actual device marking reads"L2904D" whereas the marking should be "LM2904" as indicated in the data sheet.

Please advice the reason of the difference.

Thank you for pointing this out. This looks to be an error - we are working on updating the datasheet to reflect the correct change to "L2904D". This should be reflected in the next datasheet revision. Please note that this device is still the product you ordered, LM2904DR-JF.

Dear Carrie,

As top marking is a very important indicator for TI's authentic device I'm afraid customer won't accept this explanation(i.e. error on data sheet). Could TI please issue a guarantee letter to indicate that the 1 reel we received is indeed "LM2904DR-JF"?

Actually this reel was distributed to end customer through us, and we ordered this reel through TI's official channel. However if the marking is not the same as data sheet, how can TI identity the relevant lot in case of failure, or make sure that the device is not mistaken?

We are able to trace the specific lot from the additional information on the top side marking. I was able to look up your device in our system and can confirm that this is a TI device from our Malaysia assembly site. Our data also matches the shipping label you previously attached, showing the same seal date and lot number.
