TL071: TLC071 no offset function ?

Yes, the offset adjustment pin feature in the post-PCN TL07x and TLC071C have been removed.

There are some changes due to the new FAB change, but the performance specification is generally inline with the pre-PCN product. If not, changes in the datasheet will be made (I believe that the latest TL071x datasheet has not been released). 

The one still has the offset adjustment feature is OP07C/OP07D. Due to the improved FAB process, the Vos control is much better than old days, and the feature is removed. 

If you are considering low Vos op amp, you may look into precision op amp with Vos <1mV. There are low cost or cost optimized precision op amps in our catalog, and these are low Vos op  amps with internal etrim features while it is being manufactured and adjusted at the packaging process.

Hi Alex1,

I understand if the op amp is used for instrumentational design. However, we have many low to ultra low Vos op amps, and no Vos adjustments are required if these op amps are used. Often these op amps are way better performance specification than TL07x design, though it may cost more. But we also  have low cost precision op amps that are suited for the similar design.

Hi Alex, 

The TL07x op amp series are affected by series of PCNs. For some unknown reasons, Arrow company did not post all the related PCN in its website, and I check the PCN via digitkey.com instead. The new FAB is a "redesign" per the previous topology in the new FAB process, and the Si-die area is smaller than the pre-PCN op amps.

I understand that the customer's compliant. The disable of the offset pin adjustment feature is specified in the datasheet (under history selection) but the latest datasheet has not been posted. The released of the new datasheet is late.

All the new-PCN op amp series per the offset adjustment feature has removed due to better process control in the new FAB, but the product still belongs to general purpose op amp class. 

I will ask our system engineering to post the latest datasheet soon.
