TLV333: no input diodes opamp

I need OpAmp similar to the TLV333 that has no diodes from the input to the VCC.

So i can decrease the VCC to 0V while i have voltage at the input.

  • In general, all I/O pins include reverse-bias ESD diodes to its supply rails. Thus, we do not have anything like TLV333 without ESD diode from the input terminal to Vcc.  However, we have some higher voltage part like LM324 or LM2902 that are protected by reverse-breakdown voltage of diode to negative rail (with no ESD from input to Vcc).

    In those part the Inputs can be powered before VCC for flexibility without drawing large input current that could damage the part - see below.

    Having said that, you may protect any op amp against damage by limiting the input current below 10mA.  This may be easily accomplished by adding a resistor in series with the input terminal.  For example, for Vin=5V and Vcc=0, adding 500ohm in series with the input will limit the current below 10mA - see below.

    Also, in case Vcc floats while there is non-zero voltage on the input pin, the circuit will not require any protection for as long as VG1 is below absolute max of 7V - see below.

  • The low-voltage LMV321 also has no diodes to VCC. (But the newer CMOS variants LMV321A and LM321LV have them.)

    In general, this problem is solved by leaving the opamp powered and use the shutdown function (e.g., TLV9041‍S).

  • Also, TLV9001S, LMV341, LMV601 and TLV2760 are available with the shutdown option.
