Hi can anyone recommend an dual opamp that has better characteristics than this. the OPA2120 look better but the datasheet does not described the -55c characteristic for noise etc. can anyone help me

    Hi Ross, 

    OPA2227-EP is enhanced op amp product, which is tailored for military, aerospace, and high-reliability industrial uses, and the temperature operating range is rated from -55C to +125C. The product is qualified and process is certified to have the rating (it also costs more due to paper work and certification etc..).

    Which OPA2120 are you referring to? OPA2210 op amp? Typical op amps are industrial grade (-40C to +125C) and it does not guarantee to operate -55C to +125. However, it does not mean it is unable to operate at -55C. You have to validate on your own and verify that it will meet for your requirements and application. 

    If your requirements are specified between -55C to +125C, then you have to use certified op amps. The selections in -EP or other higher certified op amps are limited.
