Hello team,
My customer plans to use multiple OPAMPs and wants to expect the power dissipation in both AC and DC input in order to select right LDO.
Is there a recommended simulation tool to calculate this?

Hi Austin,
My customer plans to use multiple OPAMPs and wants to expect the power dissipation in both AC and DC input in order to select right LDO.
LDO is a constant voltage source, and the amount current drew is determined by a load that connected to its output. Typically, the power requirements in LDO is 2-3X or higher than the required overall current or power in the op amps' application (you have to take into account temperature factors and design margins).
Is there a recommended simulation tool to calculate this?
Yes, most simulation tool is able to able to calculated. Typically, it is estimated, since >2-3X total power power consumption is considered.
If you want to know exact power consumption, we can simulate it. But you need to provide me with the complete schematic, where I need to know input and output voltage and current, waveform types and gain of a circuit. If I have these operating parameters, I can simulate it for you and show you how to calculate these power requirements.
Best,
Raymond
