TL331: Query on pullup for open collector output

Hi Team,

We are using TL331 comparator in our design., the supply VCC for TL331 is +5V and as we know the output is open collector we provided the pull up of +3.3V.

Our concern is, If VCC of comparator is +5V, can we provide pull-up of +3.3V for the output?

These two voltages are not related; both might be any voltage up to 36 V.

Hello Tejas,

As Clemens said, the output of the TL331 can be pulled-up to any voltage up to 36V, regardless of the actual supply voltage.

But operating at 5V, I would recommend the TL331LV to get the full input voltage range. But the maximum pull-up voltage would be 5.5V.
