INA226: Connection of VBus before or after the shunt

Part Number: INA226

Tool/software:

Dear TI Forum,

I am wondering were to connect Vbus. In the datasheet both variants are shown. On p. 14 (official part) Vbus is connected to the PSU side. On p.28 (informational part) Vbus is connected to the load side of the shunt.

Since the voltage difference is < 82mV, does is even matter in the end?

Sure there is a small error in the measured voltage (<1% at 12V), but does it influence anything in the analog front end of the IC?

Kind regards

Moritz
