Hi Team,
I want to measure 0 to 20ma current , need a isolated amplifier. Can I use AMC3301?
Thanks

Hi Bosco,
Yes, you can measure 0 to 20mA for current sensing using the AMC3301. You would need to use a shunt resistor in series with the current path to do this.
You could also use other more dedicated current sensing applications like the AMC13xx series.

Hi Gustavo Fonseca,
Thanks for the reply.
Hope AMC3301 can measure AC / DC current?
Actually I need to measure current 0 to 20ma from 10 channels ->(AMC3301 -10nos) ->MCU with Built-in ADC. (Sampling rate 20 s/s). hope this will work.
any other suggestion / part no ?
Secondly, any isolation amplifier which can be configured to measure 0-10VDC or 0 to 20ma Current.? Please suggest part no.
Regards
Hello Bosco,
Yes, it can measure AC or DC current.
If you are using a MCU with an ADC already then the AMC3301 will work perfectly as it works as an amplifier as well.
If you want other suggestions:
AMC3300 works as well as it has a +-1V differential so it allows more flexibility in your shunt resistor.
AMC1311 works if you do not need the DC/DC converter.
Finally, if you want to measure 0-10VDC then you could use an ISO224, which has a +-12V input range.
Hope this helps,
Gustavo Fonseca
