TLV1862: Saturation Detection current sense

Part Number: TLV1862

Tool/software:

Hello!

I'm trying to design a system that switches in a shunt resistor when an output voltage exceeds a certain amount, but I feel like I'm missing something. I'm not attached to the TLV1862 so if something fits better in here feel free to suggest. My goal is to place two high side shunts in parallel, sense the output voltage of a difference amplifier, and then switch in a smaller shunt resistor (either substitute out or parallel combination) when a large current is detected that causes the amplifier output to saturate.

The two current ranges are Range 1: 15uA to 100uA, and Range 2: 400mA to 1.5A. I was thinking to provide a large hysteresis value so that the minimum output voltage of Range 2 does not trigger the return to Range 1. I was thinking of setting a high trigger point at 4.5V, and a low trigger point at 700mV. It does not need to be particularly fast.

I've attached my TINA sim, but I know my hysteresis resistor values are incorrect, and I have a VCVS to give me an ideal approximation of my difference amplifier.
