AMC3301: Layout for 2 devices stacked

Hello team,

My customer is designing layout for AMC3301, and they have read app note (SBAA515A).

On Figure 4-3 from SBAA515A, HGND of each AMC3301 is connected by vias, highlighted with green arrows.

My customer would like to know the reason for connecting both HGNDs.
Does it help the EMI performance?

Hi Kei,

Who is your customer?

Sharing the same grounds can help the EMI performance a bit due to the smaller ground plane which is part of the reason for connecting the grounds yes. Another part of the better EMI performance of this layout is because of the stacked device placement itself.
