XTR110: Dynamic Response for 3-wire V-I Converters

Hi,

I've been using XTR110 in a 3-wire V-I converter design like Figure 10:

This has been meeting my needs; however, I have the opportunity to upgrade this design for a product. Unfortunately, the dynamic response is not compatible. Although the XTR110 has been around for quite a while, I don't see anything similar with better AC specifications in your portfolio.

The XTR111 appears to be limited to around 40mA.

Hi Jaynie,

The XTR110 is a very unique current transmitter. You are correct, it's the only one that can be used to drive very high output currents.

What is the maximum output current that you need the 3 wire transmitter to output?

6 Amps.

Hi Jaynie,

We don't have anything else that can drive that much current directly.

I am curious as to why you need 6Amps? Most people use our current transmitters from 4-20mA for long distance communication protocol.

I figured I had to build it myself. Thanks for the confirmation. I've been very happy with TI parts in general. Years ago, I had the opportunity to work with TI engineers, and they were great. Appreciate the support.
