XTR111: Handling OD pin

Hi,

I designed a PCB having XTR111 for PWM from MSP430 to 4-20mA conversion. I misinterpreted the datasheet and left the OD pin unconnected. 

SInce the OD pin is open drain input pin, do you find it safe if we short the OD pin to DC GND directly (Pin 9 & Pin 10 together) to permanently enable the output or a pull-down resistor is required?
