THS4567: THS4567

Part Number: THS4567

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have some questions about THS4567.

What is the Transimpedance when in TIA mode? What is the input Noise? Can this device be used as a TIA and FDA simultaneously? Is 42MHz the maximum bandwidth it can handle?

Thanks

  • Hello Andrew,

    Great questions!

I will check to confirm my spec answers to your questions regarding numbers.

For TIA mode vs. FDA mode, TIA mode is not 'only' a TIA.  The mode is actually between a fully differential TIA or a regular FDA.  When you use TIA mode, you are having the TIA functionality and FDA data converter driver stages in one device.  This feature is enabled by the external access to set the input common mode voltage (VICM) loop.  When you disable the VICM the THS4567 becomes a traditional FDA.

42MHz is the bandwidth in a gain of 10 V/V, you can achieve different bandwidths for various gain-settings.

I will follow-up with spec confirmations Andrew, thank you for your interest in the THS4567.  We are glad to help with a design-in and having this device be valued within your project.

    Best,

    Alec

  • Hello Andrew,

Would you be open to connecting via email?  I have some more detailed follow-up questions which would be better to discuss offline.

I have sent you a 'friend request' on e2e, which will allow me to share my email.

For TIA mode, there is an input current noise listed in the specification table.  Fig. 6-5 & 6-6 show noise data for the FDA operation.
