TAS6424E-Q1: Four output channels are not working on the amplifier

Hi Ti Team,

We are using the QWM2290 chipset. We are connected the speaker on the 4th channel of the amplifier, we have flashed same image on both devices.
In one of the board the audio is working fine but another board not getting audio output in all channels.
we have compared all the register values between these two boards and we have observed some mismatch in register(0x0f) values between the working and issue board. Please find the observation below,

1. working board,

0x0f -> Channel State Reporting Register ,the value 0xFC indicates that Channel 4 is in a play state, while the other channels are in DC load diagnostic mode.
0x04 -> Channel State Control , all channels are play state.

2. Issue board,

0x0f -> Channel State Reporting Register , the value 0xFC indicates that Channel 4 is in a Hi-Z state, while the other channels are in DC load diagnostic mode.
0x04 -> Channel State Control , all channels are play state.

Please help to solve this issue.

Hi Manigandan,

I am assuming you have two 4 channel boards that are identical. On the board with the issue, you need to read the fault registers to see if there is a fault present.

Yes, both boards are identical.

I read the fault register on both boards and have attached the results here. The ‘Clock fault detected’ error is occurring on both the issue device and the working device.

Hi Gregg Scott,

I accidentally clicked 'This resolved my issue' on my blender query. The issue is actually still unresolved.

I am unable to write to that register on both the faulty and the working devices.

Manigandan,

You clear the faults by setting bit 7 in register 0x21 to 1. This will clear the faults.

We set bit 7 to 1 in register 0x21, but it didn’t work for us.

Manigandan,

After writing the clear fault bit, you should go back and read the fault registers again. If you still have a clock fault, then you need to check your clocks to make sure they are good.

Manigandan,

If you still have a clock fault, then you need to check the I2S clocks.

We probed the I2S MCLK line and confirmed that the clock is active. We initiated an email regarding this, can we continue the conversation there?
