No there shouldn't be a leakage path created by disconnecting the load.

Hi Mallika,
Our load is an LED light. A disconnection event causes the LED to glow dimly (in shunt mode).
The dim glow only stops after we remove the INA226.

The LED lighting up is probably due to the input bias current (~0.1nA) flowing from VBUS to the input pins.
