Tool/software:
Hi Engineer,
Could you help suggest the Discontinuation time of part LM3900MX?
Thanks,
Suri.
Hi Suri,
Could you help suggest the Discontinuation time of part LM3900MX?
I have not seen the end of life or obsolete PCN. Here is the current inventory.
The LM3900MX is essentially the SOIC-14 SMD version of the LM3900 quad Norton operational amplifier. This is a current-input and voltage output amplifier.
I do not see the MX - suffix on the current datasheet list. Could you clarify the package type? And I will be happy to find it out for you about the EOL.
Best,
Raymond
Hi Suri,
The MX-suffix is no longer produced, since TI owns the LM3900 op amp. However, the LM3900 should be the same op amp with TI's current part numbers.
Please give me a few days to track down the EOL status, if it is applicable (I do not know and I have to ask the marketing and system teams).
Best,
Raymond

The LM3900 (TI part number) is manufactured via SFAB process, and it will be good ideas to have a life time buy on the IC, if your demand is high and consistent.
SFAB will be shutdown by the end of this year. No PCN is issued, which means that the wafers on the part will be built for X number of years (or you can call it life time built, which is my speculation).
If you have other questions, please let us know.
Best,
Raymond
